The hotel is adorned with luxuries of a modern hotel, with 94 rooms of 3 variants each room has a sprawling balcony which opens into the dry zone forest giving an absolutely serene view. Of the 3 variants of rooms, the deluxe rooms are the most spacious and painted and decorated with earthly colors, which seems to blend in with the environment around. The same feel extends to the super deluxe and the suits. In addition to accommodation, the other amenities include Wi-Fi and a minibar of refreshments. Apart from the balcony, the rooms are adorned with plush bathtubs and mini jacuzzies (in suits) to give you the utmost feeling of a relaxing vacation. The bathrooms are very tastefully done in pure white marble. For the rooms to be beautiful and elegant is normal, but for them to be maintained exactly the same for several years is just what the hotel specializes in. The level of hygiene and cleanliness of the rooms is top-notch giving it a brand-new feeling.

The best part of any vacation should be trying good and exotic food, the Jetwing Hotel is a treasure trove for exotic plates and one can choose among 6 different cuisines. Lu Lin

The name is inspired by the forest surrounding the hotel, and the main idea of the restaurant and its food revolves around the blend of two cultures mainly Chinese with a strong Sri Lankan core to it. The restaurant has indoor seating and is open for both lunch and dinner.

The Canopy Bar

Unlike Lu Lin, The Canopy Bar has outdoor seating in the veranda and is located on the terrace heightened as tall as the trees that surround it. it is the best spot to enjoy an evening drink with a loved one and celebrate your holidays and special days. The bar offers a variety of drinks to choose from while enjoying the lush surroundings of the place they call home, Dambulla.

Isle

After dining at the top amongst the trees and environment, the hotel provides you with a different set up for a different mood. The Isle restaurant is located by the infinity pool of the hotel on the ground level providing you with a 360- degree view of the pool as well as the environment surrounding it. it is ideal for breakfast and lunch under the warm but soothing Dambulla sun.

“All good things come at a price” is often quoted, but isn’t always true, especially not if you are staying at Jetwing, which is no less than a 5-star hotel and that too affordable.

Per night cost of a deluxe room without breakfast is USD 84

And per night cost with breakfast is USD 94

If you include all meals then it goes up to USD 120 per night.

Though not very cheap, no good hotels around the world would give you such a price for all the luxuries that we experience at Jetwing Lake hotel. There are many offers during the vacation seasons and one must seize that opportunity to get the best price.

Sightseeing

It is located 175km away from the city of Colombo, and that makes it easy for tourists to explore other places and get away from city life. The nearest bus station is Dambulla and is convenient for transport. The Sigiriya Rock fortress is one main tourist attraction, it is a steep climb of several 1200 steps and the view from the top is breath-taking, it is a historical site and one of the heritage sites of UNESCO.  The Dambulla cave temple is also a famous UNESCO world heritage site that consists of ancient paintings of Buddha and his life within the caves. The structure from outside has a big buddha statue made of gold and thus the name Golden Temple of Dambulla.

You can spare a few hours to go around the Dambulla market to get an insight into the lives of the people and buy wares from them like handmade bags, jewels, and pots.

Final Thoughts

It’s a pure delight to be in Sri Lanka and even better when you are put up in such a fantastic location overlooking such a beautiful lake. The place is serene and tranquil and away from all the noise pollution of the cities and towns and that is what makes it truly special. The overall experience of staying at Jetwing Lake hotel has been an honor, very rarely do you come across such nice hotels with a blend of luxury and culture with a welcoming staff and an administration so efficient.
